Moodle accompanying the research seminar Gruppen- und Operatoralgebren-Treffen (GOAT) reading group on infinity category and higher homotopy theory.
Note: the following is not all set in stone, some changes may still be made.
We aim to introduce infinity categories via quasicategories (simplicial sets) and describe higher analogues of standard category theory results such as the Yoneda Lemma, limits and colimits, and adjunctions. We will (time permitting) move on to some applications, including (maybe) describing algebraic K-theory and/or KK-theory in this framework.
Required/recommended background and prerequisites:
- (required) standard category theory, e.g. chapters 1-4 of Riehl "Category theory in context"
- (recommended) knowledge of Kan extensions (e.g. chapter 6 of Riehl)
- (required) algebra (groups, rings, modules, algebras, etc)
- (required?/recommended) C*-algebras

Beginn in der 3. Semesterwoche
Dieses Seminar ersetzt NICHT das Seminar
Anleitung zum wissenschaftlichen Arbeiten (Teil A & B). Es ist ein
ergänzendes Seminar, das für Interessierte angeboten wird, die
Inhalte der Vorlesung vertiefen und Wissen auf diesem Gebiet erweitern wollen.
