Die Exkursion ist vorrangig für Lehramtsstudierende im Rahmen der berufsfeldbezogenen Lehrveranstaltung gedacht. Studierende anderer Studiengruppen sind ebenfalls willkommen.

This seminar adresses conflicts and synergies between agriculture and nature protection. It is primarily directed to students who have selected the Ecology, Evolution and Conservation Master line and wonder why there is so little to learn about agriculture. It is agriculture that causes most of the conflicts with nature conservation as both land uses compete for the rare space. In this seminar, we discuss different conflicts, different viewpoints and different solutions and work out synergies between the conflicting aims and how they can be implenented.

This course delivers basic knowledge on agriculture for those who deal with nature conservation and other topics concerning land use. It explains the motivation of farmers and the challenges they deal with when producing food and manage land, also in the light of climate change and food security.
