Two pillars of probability theory are the law of large numbers (LLN) , as well as the central limit theorem (CLT), where the gaussian distribution appears as universal limit.
In this seminar, we will deal with situations where highly non-standard variants of both the LLN and the CLT appear. The most prominent example is that of the longest increasing subsequence of a random permutation.
