Summer term late start: May 10, 2021.
This basic course will focus on accomplishing action with language. In
particular, we will study the use of English as a tool for communication
in a range of work contexts. Based on your linguistic knowledge so far,
we will survey a number of lexical and syntactic forms in English and
their usage in particular contexts. Moreover, participants will
encounter practical examples of English at work, including
medical communication, journalism, and meetings.
