This course will provide the incoming master students of the MSc LETF with the necessary background on formal syntax and formal semantics.
The course will be split in half. Rebecka Jarvis will give an introdcution to syntax. Malte Zimmermann will give the introduction to semantics.
Course materials wil be provided via the moodle-platform. Indispensable background for the semantics part is still Angelika Kratzer & Irene Heim (1998). Semantics in Generative Grammar.
