How do individuals deal with challenges in the education system? How (and why) do individual efforts vary along social class lines? How do education systems respond to those efforts? How (and why) do those responses contribute to inequalities?” In this seminar, we will address these questions to investigate at the micro level the social processes that produce and maintain inequalities. During the seminar, we will critically examine theories and empirical evidence on the topic drawing on recent developments in the literature as well as different research perspectives (qualitative and quantitative).
