This course is an in-person block seminar for Academic Papers and Presentations in Linguistics. It is held over two weekends (Jan 25th-26th and Feb 1st-2nd). The aim of the course is to prepare students for reading, writing and presenting academic papers in linguistics. A personal computer is necessary to have for each session for the purpose of completing various practical tasks. The assessments for the course are: a short abstract, preseantation and a term paper. These topics will be discussed with examples of how to conduct research in a few areas of linguistics, such as corpus linguistics, lexicographical research and discourse analysis. The course is part of Basic Key Competences Module in the English Studies.
