Contemporary Queer Writing

This course will involve a dynamic exploration of contemporary queer writing. Different forms of recent literature such as poetry, the novel as well as theory will be examined through close readings, discussions, group work as well as individual creative and critical writing exercises. Students will be invited to research, discuss and write about how different forms of queer literature interact with contemporary ideas surrounding queer identities, confessional writing, and the contemporary gothic.
