In this seminar, we will cover the basics of computational algebraic geometry, including the core algorithms, as well as introduce related theoretical notions. Additionally, we will gain familiarity with software for algebraic geometry, including the systems Singular and Homotopy Continuation by considering common problems from areas where these techniques can be applied.
Students are expected to gather information about a predefined topic and condense their findings into a 90-minute presentation.
