This course focuses on the major theories of sentence processing and the history of their development. The course is taught in seminar mode -- a student presents a theory paper followed by a discussion with everyone. We cover theories based on working-memory constraints, theories based on resource allocation and information-theoretic constraints, representation distortion-based theories, and connectionism.
Course timings: Monday, 14:15 to 15:45, from April 17 to July 24, 2023.
