This hands-on course is part of the Basic Key Competences module in English Studies. It will focus on basic academic working techniques in the field of English linguistics, such as literature research, data collection and processing, writing academics papers as well as preparing presentations in linguistics. Furthermore, students will be introduced to various methods of empirical linguistic analysis, including the use of electronic text corpora.
