This course offers an introduction to the key tenets of Cultural Linguistics and its areas of application. Cultural Linguistics looks at language as a cultural phenomenon, which it analyzes by a set of analytical tools subsumed under the umbrella ‘cultural conceptualizations’ in a broader sense. In this seminar, students will gain theoretical knowledge about the paradigm and, more importantly, will be equipped with the skills needed to conduct a Cultural Linguistic analysis in an own research project.
