Focused on North American literature, theatre, and film this course provides an overview of the genres and the key techniques and theories for their critical analysis and interpretation. The main question and concern with which we will approach the texts is racial dynamics and their socio-political dimensions.
This course will convene virtually Tuesdays, 10 to 12 am, starting from April 13th (except for two asynchronous sessions in May). A zoom link to the meeting will be available on Moodle, as will be the rest of the course material.
For those of you who would like head start on the reading material, we will be discussing Toni Morrison’s Beloved, George Wolfe`s The Colored Museum, and Haile Gerima`s Bush Mama.
