This hands-on course is part of the Basic Module Key Competences in English Studies. It will focus on basic academic working techniques in the field of English linguistics, such as literature research, data collection and processing, presentations as well as writing papers. Furthermore, students will be introduced to various methods of empirical linguistic analysis, including the use of electronic text corpora.
